Advanced search feature - new on MSN
MSN has introduced a new advanced search operator “linkfromdomain”, that will tell you all the sites your site links to. For example a search for linkfromdomain:yoursite.com on MSN will give the list of all sites that your site is linking to.
You will be familiar with the “linkdomain” operator which gives list of all sites that link to a given site. This is useful to find your own backlinks and to analyze your competitor backlinks. However what good is the new operator “linkfromdomain”, what can we do with the information that this search operator brings up.
Here are some of the things that you can do
1) You can get to know all the places your competitors are linking to - if you are a new player in the market and researching the market, you may get to know the complimentary businesses that you could partner with.
2) With a bit of work around you can figure out who your competitors are exchanging links with - the age old reciprocal linking
3) You can get to know if your competitors have got sitewide links on a particular website
