In the last article on link building strategy we had briefly covered the importance of link building campaign and the different aspects as to places to submit your website, quality of links, and frequency of link submission. In this article we will discuss some link building tips to find places where you can submit your website.

1) Head over to google or your favorite search engine and search for web directories list and you will find a good number of sites listing out the list of web directories. For example when you follow through the first result from seo company you will find 40 top directories, 311 paid directories, 271 free one way link directories, and its even got 73 web directory lists.

2) Do a search for niche web directories list, regional web directories list and so on to find more specific directories that you can submit your website. Again here is an example of niche web directories list that came up for the above search.

3) Here is a list of phrases that you can search for to find more general directories and websites that would accept your site submission

4) Perform a search combining your keyword/keyphrase with phrases like directories list, add url, submit url and the list of phrases mentioned above to find out the more specific directories/websites targeted towards your niche.

5) Sneak into places where your competitors have already obtained links. Do a search on google for link:www.competitorsite.com and you will get upto 1000 of their backlinks, you can also use the yahoo site explorer to find the backlinks of your competitiors. Yahoo seems to be reporting the most number of backlinks. You can use the same link command on MSN and that will give some backlinks too. Overall if you filter out the duplicates you should have a good number of sites where you can submit your website.
